Actor Chris Evans sent social media into a tizzy on Saturday when he published an Instagram story that apparently showed an image of a penis from his camera roll.

The 39-year-old “Opposite Sex” star has since scrubbed the story from his social media account.

“Captain America” trended on Twitter. Evans has played the superhero in more than a half-dozen movies.

The NSFW flap occurred in a clip Evans posted showing him playing the trivia game Heads Up!, according to Us Weekly.

While some people on social media had fun with the rare X-rated picture, others came to Evans’ backing.

One Twitter user named katie shared four photos of the good-guy actor with kids, with the caption, “putting chris evans doing charity work for children’s hospitals on your tl.”

Evans has more than 5 million followers on Instagram.

As of Saturday night, the top picture on Evans’ Instagram was an adorable, G-rated picture of Evans with his dog, Dodger.
