A 6-year-old child and two adults were shot in Newark on Tuesday night.

Authorities say the victims were shot on South Orange Avenue, near South 9th Street.

The child suffered a collapsed lung and is expected to recover.

The conditions of the adults are unknown.

Just hours earlier, a separate shooting took place at a neighborhood in Newark, where two police officers were injured.

Police are still searching for the gunman in that attack.
