Police in the Bronx are searching for a group of suspects behind a deadly shooting in a Target parking lot.

Officials say gunfire erupted just before midnight Sunday along Brush Avenue.

The victim, 49-year-old Raymond Resto was waiting in the parking lot when a blue BMW pulled up next to him.

Authorities say three to four people got out of the car and fired shots toward Resto in front of his wife. He was struck several times.

Resto was taken to the hospital where he later died.

He was known to park his vehicle in the Throggs Neck Shopping Center and was waiting for a cab to take them home. His car, a Honda Accord, is now being impounded for evidence.

Police have not said if the shooting was random, or if there was a motive involved. They did say they do not believe it was a case of road rage.

No arrests have been made.

A Target spokesperson confirmed to ABC News that the store was closed at the time of the shooting and noted that all employees are safe.

“We can confirm that our store was closed at the time of this incident, all team members are safe and there was no impact to other guests,” a statement said. “We appreciate the quick response of the NYPD and will refer additional questions to law enforcement. The store reopened on time this morning.”
