Police search gunman who fired toward officers, fled on rooftops in the Bronx

Police say a man who fired a weapon in their direction got away by jumping from rooftop to rooftop in a Bronx neighborhood Friday night.
Officers were patrolling the area just before 8 p.m. when they saw a man carrying a firearm at East 174th Street and Vyse Avenue.

The man then fired a round in the direction of the officers. Nobody was injured.
That’s when the suspect, who was wearing a gray hoodie, fled the scene.
Witnesses say the suspect was later seen jumping from rooftop to rooftop, according to police sources. The NYPD aviation unit was searching for the gunman, who remained at large Saturday.
