Fire burns through roof of Upper East Side building
FDNY members battled a fire that broke out at a building on the Upper East Side on Monday.
The fire started in a store on the first floor of the five-story building located at 404 East 63rd Street.
Flames shot up a shaft between two buildings and reached the roof.
Reporters were told that three firefighters and one civilian suffered minor injuries.
Residents living in the building had to be evacuated and will not be allowed to return anytime soon.
It took about 90 minutes to bring the fire under control.
There’s no word yet on the cause.
