Police are investigating after they say a woman was stabbed and killed by her own son and another woman was also stabbed and injured.

The victims were attacked inside the Harrison Gardens apartment complex at around 1:45 a.m. Tuesday morning.

Rosa Massoni, 67, was pronounced dead at the scene. She lived in the third-floor apartment where an early morning altercation turned into a bloodbath.

Her 32-year-old son, Victor Temoche, is the suspect. He is charged with murder, attempted murder and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes.

The trail of blood flowed from the top floor down two flights of stairs and was smeared all over the front entrance and sidewalk.

A second woman, who is in her 50s, was also stabbed in the vicious assault. Her condition was not yet known.

The attacker tried to get away but was taken into custody and was evaluated at a hospital in Newark.
