3 killed, several injured after multi-vehicle crash in Jersey City
At least three people are dead after a multi-vehicle crash in Jersey City Monday morning.
Officials say several cars collided on Paterson Plank Road near Congress Street just after 12:30 a.m.
A blue BMW collided with a Kia Amanti at the intersection, shoving the sedan against the wall, authorities said.
After the crash, the BMW could be seen with its airbags deployed and all doors open. What was left of a silver Kia was resting on its side against a wall.
Officials say two people were pronounced dead at the scene and the third person was pronounced dead later. Three people were left injured after the crash.
Authorities say at least one person was taken out of their vehicle through extended extrication. Investigators used thermal imaging cameras to make sure there were no other victims stuck in the vehicles.
The Hudson County Prosecutors Office is investigating the crash.
