Rep. Matt Gaetz in legal peril as ex-girlfriend wins immunity in sex trafficking probe

The ex-girlfriend of Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) has reportedly been granted immunity by federal prosecutors, raising the odds he will soon be charged in a sex trafficking and obstruction case.

CBS News reported that she testified to a Florida grand jury last week after cutting a deal with prosecutors to spill the beans about Gaetz’s alleged hijinx with escorts and an underage girl.

Cooperation with the feds likely means she provided valuable information about Gaetz’s alleged involvement in the scheme to traffic women and at least one underage girl for sex.

The outspoken pro-Trump lawmaker emphatically denies paying anyone for sex or sleeping with an underage girl.

The third-term congressman has made sensational counter-claims that the probe is part of a tangled extortion plot aimed at him and that “Deep State” liberal elites are targeting due to his staunch conservative views.

The new report says the ex-girlfriend offered details of a trip Gaetz made to the Bahamas with Joel Greenberg, a disgraced former suburban Orlando tax official who has confessed to fraud and sex charges.

Gaetz, 39, represents a very safe GOP seat in the Florida Panhandle and recently carried out a pro-Trump speaking tour with fellow MAGA firebrand Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.)
