Retired police officer kills self near Whitestone Bridge in Queens

A retired NYPD officer fatally shot himself on a service road to the Whitestone Bridge in Queens on Monday, police sources said.

The ex-officer pulled up to the service road and took his own life about 2 p.m., sources said.
