NYPD seeks Harlem man in killing of mom pulled down Chinatown subway stairs

A Harlem man is sought in the killing of a mom pulled down a stairway in a Manhattan subway station, police said Wednesday.

David Robinson, 52, is wanted in the death of 58-year-old Than Htwe at around 10:45 a.m. on July 17.

Robinson is suspected of yanking Htwe and her son down a stairwell in the subway station at Canal St. and Broadway in Chinatown as he tried to steal the son’s backpack, say cops.

Robinson crept up behind Htwe and her son as they walked up the staircase, and yanked on his backpack, sending him tumbling backward. As he fell, he reached for his mom, who then toppled down with him.

Htwe was comatose after the incident, and died Wednesday.

Robinson has a single unsealed arrest in New York on his record, from a 2003 assault case, police sources said.

Robinson hasn’t lived at his last known address at an apartment building on E. 129th St. since 2012, a woman living there said Wednesday. Police officers told her he’s now homeless, the woman said.

Cops released Robinson’s mug shot, and are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS.
